So what does the Institute actually do?

What We Do DiagramWe want a whole lotta people to benefit from using Decision Science.  That’s why we work in the green, not the grey.  We don’t make decisions for people.  And we don’t consult on specific decisions.  We teach people how to fish, either directly or indirectly.

Here is a list of the types of things we do:

Talks
  • 5- to 90-min keynote presentations full of humor and stories.
  • Attendees see Decision Science in action and get a few quick wins.
  • For groups only, virtual and in-person.

Challenges
  • Short, application-focused sessions held over a few consecutive days.
  • Participants actually taste Decision Science, practicing via homework and getting expert feedback.
  • For groups and individuals, virtual only.

Workshops
  • Interactive instruction and hands-on practice using Decision Science.  2-3 days in-person; 8-15 weeks virtually.
  • Group coaching post-workshop ensures team members apply their new skills to their own challenges.
  • For groups only, virtual and in-person.

Guides
  • Development of a highly-tailored decision science tool that turns raw expertise into repeatable judgements and recommendations.
  • Training focuses on how to use the tool and explain the output. The full process is typically 2-3 months.
  • For groups only, virtual and in-person.

Certifications
  • Includes 12-15 weeks of in-depth learning, followed by participants applying Decision Science with their own clients and presenting their work.
  • Graduates serve their clients more fully and differentiate themselves in the marketplace.
  • For individuals only and virtual only.
